AMMAN —
The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce
(ACC) during the January–October period of this year for the export of goods
and commodities to Arab and foreign countries amounted to about JD742 million,
compared to JD599 million in the same period last year, Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.

According to the ACC’s statistics issued Saturday,
the number of ACC-issued certificates of origin in the last 10 months of 2022
reached 30,526, compared to 31,689 in the comparison period of 2021.
Over the same period, the ACC certificates targeted
many countries, primarily Saudi Arabia with 7,722, Kuwait with 5,913, the UAE
with 4,097, Iraq with 1,153, and Egypt with 907.
In terms of value over the last 10 months of 2022,
exports to Iraq amounted to JD188 million, to Egypt JD98 million, to Saudi
Arabia JD94 million, to UAE JD76 million, and to Kuwait about JD33 million, ACC
figures show.
The value of re-exported foreign products stood at
JD320 million in the said period, while industrial, agricultural and Arab
products’ exports reached JD187 million, JD143 million, and JD60 million,
respectively.
The ACC issues certificates of origin for Jordanian
agricultural and animal products, and Jordanian raw material for use in foreign
goods that are being re-exported, and in foreign goods purchased from the local
market under specific conditions.
It also issues such certificates for Jordanian industrial
products at the request of exporters, based on an original factory invoice
certified by a Jordanian chamber of industry, proving that goods have Jordanian
origin.
