Murad told a press conference that a variety of
Jordanian products have a good chance of expanding their share in the European
market, thanks to their quality and competitiveness, pointing to an increase in
exports to the bloc’s countries since the start of the current year.
According to recent official figures, national
exports to EU countries soared by 103 percent to JD174 million in the first
half of 2022, compared to 86 million in the same period of 2021.
Murad asserted that
JEBA has sought to enhance Jordan’s trade ties with the bloc’s nation, explore
export prospects, and attract investment of added value to the national economy
in many sectors, especially communication and industry.
In addition to organizing visits and trade missions
to Europe, Murad said JEBA participates in various European exhibitions and
prepares Jordanian-European programs to exchange expertise and raise the
capacities of small and medium enterprises.
JEBA helps Jordanian companies to improve their
products and export to European markets through the Netherlands Senior Experts
Program, which offers free training and rehabilitation, Murad noted.
Established in 1995, JEBA is a non-profit
organization open to businesspersons in Jordan and Europe. Association members
include a wide spectrum of distinguished Jordanian and European firms and
businesspersons.
