AMMAN —
The Cabinet on Sunday approved a recommendation made by the minister of
industry, trade, and supply to dissolve the board of directors of the
Amman Chamber of Industry, effective October 2, according to the Jordan News Agency,
Petra.

The move paves the
way for elections to elect new boards.
The Cabinet
mandated the industry minister to form temporary committees to manage the
affairs of the chambers until the results of the next elections are out.
The Council of
Ministers also approved the trade minister’s recommendation to dissolve the
board of directors of
Jordan Chamber of Commerce, as of November 6, also in
preparation for elections, and formed temporary committees to run it until
elections results are out.
As per the
government decision, the members of the temporary committees must be named
within two weeks from the date of the decision.
