AMMAN —
The
Industrial producer price index increased in the first seven months of this
year by 16.84 percent, to 141.40, while in the same period last year it stood
at 121.02, according to Al-Ghad News.

The monthly
report of the Department of Statistics indicated on Monday that the increase
came as a result of the increase in the price index of manufacturing industries
by 17.78 percent, whose relative importance constitutes 86.01 percent, and the
price index of extractive industries by 25.83 percent, whose relative
importance constitutes 8.22 percent, while it decreased the electricity price
index by 6.01 percent, whose relative importance constitutes 5.76 percent.
The report showed an increase in the general
industrial producer price index for the month of July of this year, to reach
151.06, compared to 125.73 for the same month of last year, a 20.15 percent
increase.
The report added that among the most prominent
industrial groups that contributed to this increase were the manufacturing
industries, by 19.50 percent, whose relative importance constituted 86.01
percent, and the extractive industries index by 55.14 percent, with a relative
importance of 28.2 percent, while the electricity price index decreased by 9.62
percent, which has a relative importance of 5.76 percent.
