Iraqi nationals topped the list of the most traded real estate in Jordan during 2021,
with purchased property at an estimated value of JD107,571,938, or 42 percent
of the estimated value of sales by non-Jordanians.

According to figures
issued by the
Department of Land and Survey, the real estate sales to
non-Jordanian investors during 2021 amounted to a total of 3,160 properties,
including 2,044 apartments with a total area of 309,859sq.m.
In addition, 1,116
plots of land were sold to non-Jordanians in 2021, with an area of
11,037,057sq.m.
The estimated value of
these properties stood at JD257,350,759, an increase of 9 percent, compared to
2019, of which JD170,277,110 or 66 percent for apartments, and JD87,073,649, or
34 percent for land.
The numbers indicate
that Iraqis came to the fore in the list of sales in 2021, with a total of 895
properties.
Saudi nationals ranked
second with a total of 732 properties,
Syrian nationals ranked third with a
total of 439 properties, Gazans ranked fourth with a total of 213 properties,
US nationals fifth with a total of 152 properties, followed by Kuwaiti
nationals with a total of 111 properties.
In terms of value of
purchased property,
Saudi nationals ranked second with an amount of
JD46,437,624, making up 18 percent of property bought by non-Jordanians,
Syrians ranked third at JD20,300,358 value and 8 percent, US nationals ranked
fourth at JD12,676,752 value and 5 percent, and Gazans came fifth with JD9,567,960
value and 4 percent.
