JCC chief hails proposal for Egyptian gas in industrial cities

AMMAN — Fathi Al-Jaghbir, president of Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Amman Chamber of Industry, said the government’ decision to supply industrial cities with Egyptian gas is a good step toward reducing production costs, Ad-Dustour daily reported. He added that the decision is the result of partnerships between the government and the chambers of industry, and its goal is to reduce production costs for the sector and support its competitiveness. Jaghbir lauded the government’s efforts to support the industrial sector, stressing that this will increase productivity, and reflect positively on the national economy and support its growth. He added that the chambers seek to outline the sector’s challenges to the economic policy makers, to find solutions that support the industrial sector growth. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources posted on its website on Saturday the technical details and related mechanism for delivering natural gas to factories.
