AMMAN — A memorandum of understanding signed between
Jordan and Oman recently to enhance industrial cooperation was published in the
Official Gazette, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Under the memorandum, the two countries shall encourage technical cooperation
between industrial facilities for development and modernization of existing
industries, expansion of new industries to meet local market needs in the two
countries, exporting abroad and taking advantages of the
Greater Arab Free Trade Area to facilitate the flow of goods.
Under the memorandum, the two sides agreed to exchange expertise, and technical
know-how on industrial matters, including drawing up and implementing
industrial policies and strategies, especially small- and medium-sized
enterprises, industrial interdependence, rules of origin and establishment,
management and promotion of industrial estates, complexes and incubators.
Cooperation shall also be exerted in the field of industrial training and
rehabilitation, exchange of visits, training courses, exchange of expertise and
data about the Omani and Jordanian
markets, especially industrial trade
opportunities to expand trade exchange, as well as participation in conferences,
seminars and events within the framework of enhancing cooperation between
chambers of commerce and industry, private industrial establishments and
business owners.
The two countries, under the memorandum, shall identify the points of contact
to follow up on industrial cooperation and find solutions to problems facing
industrialists in the various areas of cooperation and the exchange of goods
between the two countries.
