AMMAN — The vice president of the
Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Jamal Rifai, on Monday discussed with adviser and deputy head of the
South Korean Mission in Jordan prospects for cementing economic ties between the two countries, and the role of the private sector in this regard, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The chamber said in a statement that Rifai stressed the importance of making use of Jordan’s geographical location, stability, and safety and the privilege it offers for being a major gateway to neighboring markets.
He called for stepping up efforts to find new cooperation frameworks to cope with the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic, to enhance economic relations, and increase trade volumes.
The South Korean diplomat stressed the need to intensify meetings and come up with “practical” proposals to enhance trade and launch joint investments, adding that the current amount of trade between the two countries does not rise to meet their aspirations.
