AMMAN — President of the
Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA) Zafer Melhem said Sunday that Palestine and Jordan will discuss the final details regarding the mechanism and timing of operating Al-Rama power station, according to Hala News.

Melhem said that he will head a Palestinian
delegation that will come to Amman in the next 10 days to meet with Jordanian
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and the General
Manager of the National Electric Power Company Amjad Rawashdeh.
He added that discussions will center on achievements
so far at the station which aims to increase electricity exported to Palestine
from the current 40MW to 80MW.
Melhem noted that the project will include a third
phase aiming to increase the power exported to Palestine in the upcoming years.
He said that the project
was supposed to be already completed, “but, we hope to wrap up the project
soon”, adding that the new amount of electricity will supply
Jerusalem,
Ramallah and Jericho.
