AMMAN —
Jordan will start supplying Iraq with electric power at the beginning of next
year once infrastructure work is completed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates,
Ayman Safadi, said, according to Al-Mamlaka
TV.

In a joint press conference with his peers, Iraq’s
Fuad Hussein and
Egypt’s Sameh Shoukry in Baghdad, Safadi said work was
underway for the linkup with Jordan’s eastern neighbor.
“Jordan and Egypt have an electrical link between
them,” he said. “We and Iraq agreed on an electrical link, an agreement was
signed, and we are continuing work in that regard.”
