The exhibition, which will see the participation of 95 local
companies from various sectors, is held in cooperation with the Ministry of
Investment, is in line with the recommendations of His Majesty
King Abdullah who asked that the ministry cooperate with and lend its support to Iraq.
Chairman of Amman and Jordan chambers of industry Fathi
Al-Jaghbir said that “organizing a specialized exhibition for Jordanian
industries in Baghdad comes within the chambers’ plans and objectives to
promote and develop trade relations with Iraq, to achieve common benefits.”
Jaghbir said that Iraq is one of the main markets for
Jordanian products that is heavily relied upon to increase exports due to its
geographical proximity and its ability to absorb various Jordanian commodities,
which have competitive prices and high quality.
Jaghbir also stressed the chambers’ keenness to overcome the
difficulties of securing a good flow of goods between the two countries by
communicating with the pertinent government authorities, and to boost the
benefits derived from the agreements signed by the two countries.
The Jordanian exhibition will be held at
Baghdad International Exhibition, which covers an area of 2,000sq.m., and will last for
10 days. It aims to promote Jordanian industries and enhance their presence in
the Iraqi market, besides introducing Jordanian products to Iraqi merchants and
consumers.
Participating are chemical and cosmetics industries,
Dead Sea product makers, paint makers, people involved in building materials,
chemicals, catering, food, agriculture and livestock, wood and furniture,
plastic and rubber, engineering, electrical and information technology, leather
