The two-day forum is organized by Jordan Chamber of
Commerce (JCC) and Federation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Chambers,
in cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat, and will be held under the
theme: “New Horizons for Economic and Investment Cooperation”.
The QCCI delegation is headed by Chairman of the
Board of Directors Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, according
to a JCC statement.
The forum aims to strengthen “historic” Jordan-GCC
relations, review investment opportunities in various economic sectors, as well
as discuss and address the challenges facing joint trade cooperation, the
statement said.
The forum will
address prospects of economic and investment partnership and the opportunities
available in Jordan and GCC countries in light of the new economic reality.
A discussion will also be devoted to Jordanian-GCC
economic integration, highlighting a number of economic issues of common
interest, in addition to developments that would enhance Jordanian-Gulf
economic relations to the desired level.
During the forum, Gulf and Jordanian businesspeople
will have the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings, and discuss possible new
partnership prospects and trade alliances.
The two sides’ business communities will also
discuss expanding cooperation areas and agreeing on mutual investments, which
would have a “positive” impact on Jordan and GCC states economically and
increasing trade exchange volumes.
