AMMAN — Jordan's
real estate trade volume inched up
by 8 percent in 2021, reaching JD5.021 billion compared to the figures reported
in 2019, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The
Department of Land and Survey (DLS) revealed on Sunday
that the state's revenue from the real estate market stood at JD210.3 million
in 2021, a 9-percent drop from 2019.
The DLS said it benchmarked the 2021 figures to those reported
in 2019 because 2020 saw multiple lockdowns and closures.
On a monthly level, the trade volume in the Jordanian real
estate market decreased in December 2021 by 13 percent, amounting to JD569
million compared to the same month of 2019. Meanwhile, revenue in the same
month of 2021 recorded a 14-percent drop, reaching JD25.2 million compared to
the same month of 2019.
Overall real estate sales in the Kingdom picked up by 32
percent, as apartment sales rose by 21 percent, while land sales went up by 36
percent compared to 2019.
