Trade minister, Algerian PM discuss ties, economy

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali, on Thursday, met with Algerian Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.  Shamali, who is currently visiting Algeria, conveyed Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh’s greetings and keenness to advance relations between Jordan and Algeria and face common challenges in the economic sphere. According to a ministry statement, the two sides discussed cooperation in the field of oil, natural gas, mines, and re-operating direct flights between the two countries.  Shamali also discussed with Benabderrahmane excluding Jordan from the decision to ban the export of sugar, as well as the date of holding a meeting of the joint committee in Amman soon.  Shamali, who is currently visiting Algeria, conveyed Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh’s greetings and keenness to advance relations between Jordan and Algeria and face common challenges in the economic sphere.

According to a ministry statement, the two sides discussed cooperation in the field of oil, natural gas, mines, and re-operating direct flights between the two countries.

 Shamali also discussed with Benabderrahmane excluding Jordan from the decision to ban the export of sugar, as well as the date of holding a meeting of the joint committee in Amman soon.
