Expert and strategic and economic analyst engineer Mohannad Abbas Haddadin said that the negotiations led by the United States with the participation of Egypt and Qatar on behalf of Hamas to conclude a deal to release prisoners and stop the barbaric war waged by Israel on Gaza for almost 11 months, have reached a dangerous juncture due to Netanyahu's adherence to the Philadelphia axis or what is known as the Salah al-Din axis, that narrow border strip inside the territory of the Gaza Strip, which extends the "axis" with a length of 14 km along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

According to the provisions of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty of 1979, and after the "Oslo 2 agreement" of 1995, Israel agreed to keep the axis along the border as a safe strip under Egyptian sovereignty.
What Israel wants to do in repudiating the agreements it has concluded with neighboring countries poses a threat to the entire peace agreement, and questions Israel's intentions and its expansionist plans, as it plans to achieve two goals when acquiring this axis:
The first objective is to expand control over the entire coastal area of Gaza and prevent Egypt from approaching it to acquire coastal gas resources and restrict exploration by its neighbour Egypt.
The second goal is to control Gaza coast and the 14-kilometer road to turn it into an aqueduct, which stretches from Eilat to the coast of Gaza on the Mediterranean Sea, to be an alternative to the Suez Canal after the narrowing of the people of Gaza and their displacement in the near future.
These are two of the undeclared strategic goals of the Gaza war, and not as Israel claims that it wants to seize this axis to prevent the smuggling of weapons and ammunition to Gaza from Egypt through digging tunnels under the Philadelphia axis.
