Last week BMW invited the press to its hometown Munich to witness the official reveal of the German carmakers’ flagship, the 7 Series, or as they simply call it, the 7. اضافة اعلان

This new generation of the luxury sedan comes with many firsts, the foremost of which is a battery-electric vehicle, or BEV, dubbed the i7.

In the luxury sedan segment, for a vehicle to distinguish itself from its competitors, it is expected to have almost spaceships like tech with maximum electrification, top performance numbers, and pay close attention to passenger indulgence and pampering, especially if they are in the backseat.

The new 7 delivers on all these fronts, especially the electrification element, with the i7 combining all the required ingredients for a best-in-class contender.

The i7 is a fully integrated model in the 7 series models. It demonstrates an unmistakably BMW standard driving pleasure and unmatched comfort coupled with a clear commitment to the electrification trend.

The 7 comes with an array of engines, gasoline mild hybrid, plug in hybrid systems, and an all-electric drive for the first time ever.  The Middle East market will get the gasoline mild hybrid and the all-electric i7.

Modern styling of the new 7 is focused on essential elements both on the exterior and interior.

The front is typical BMW as the German carmaker tried to maintain a visual differentiation between models in the BMW lineup. Its exterior design can be described as imposing as it expresses core character and gives an indicator of the driving and ride experience. The striking face of the flagship comes with the BMW signature kidney grille with lighting dominating the front and a two-piece split headlight units.

The new 7 exterior attacks the streets with a face that means business.

For the interior, many novelties are included, like the BMW Theatre Screen, the multi-sensory vehicle experience BMW iDrive with the latest generation of BMW Operating System 8, plus the BMW Curved Display, and the Maneuver Assistant for automated parking and maneuvering.

The design also reflects the balance between utmost comfort and driving pleasure. In the backseat, there is a luxury lounge atmosphere, taking unprecedented heights both by the extra spaciousness on offer and, most prominently, by innovations like the BMW Theatre Screen and upgraded comfort seats with optional reclining function.

The latest generation of BMW Operating System comes with an unprecedented multi-sensory vehicle experience, the BMW iDrive 8.1. With the fully digital BMW Curved Display, the innovative BMW Interaction Bar, the enhanced capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant — plus additional My Modes, the latest version of the BMW Head-Up Display, and the Augmented View function available for the first time on the information display behind the steering wheel — intuitive dialogue between the driver and vehicle has reached a new level.

The centerpiece of the rear entertainment, the BMW Theatre Screen, is a 31.3-inch panoramic display in 32:9 format with 8K resolution, this huge screen moves downwards from the roof and transforms the second row of seats into an exclusive private cinema on wheels, and comes with Amazon Fire TV built-in.

This includes a 31.311BK touchscreen display with Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with optional in-seat exciters, built-in touch screen remotes in the door panels (BMW Touch Command), and an automated rear shade system that closes when the BMW Theatre Screen is turned on. The driver and front passenger can also use YouTube video-on-demand streaming on the control display for the first time.

The new 7 series from BMW has it all in terms of what makes a luxury sedan from Germany stand out, adding a touch of distinctive design and next-level tech and electrification.

Beyond the specs, the introduction of the all-new 7 affirmed BMW’s commitment to the efforts to the reduction of carbon footprint throughout the product lifecycle.

Since last year, the BMW group said that it has been buying solar power manufactured aluminum from the UAE. Electricity generated in a vast solar park located in the desert outside Dubai is used for producing the lightweight metal.

The quantity of aluminum acquired that has been produced using solar power covers nearly half the annual requirements of the light metal foundry at BMW Group Plant Landshut, whose output includes the casings for the latest-generation electric motors fitted in the BMW i7.

Any launch of a new BMW will for sure be followed by a BMW M model. That is the case of the new 7.

BMW said that the M variants will be only coming with electrified drive systems. The new BMW M760e xDrive with an output of 571hp and torque of 800Nm will debut next year.

The future flagship model, the new BMW i7 M70 xDrive will have an all-electric drive system with two motors — on the front and rear axle — and will be available later in 2023. It generates an output over 600hp and a maximum torque of more than 1,000Nm, making it the most powerful BMW model ever registered for road use accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.0 seconds, as per the official BMW released data.
