GAC GS5: The SUV market’s forceful newcomer

GAC Motor continues to move at an accelerated pace towards establishing itself in the global car market, while providing the best models with modern design and innovative technical specifications that ensure comfort and safety for customers.اضافة اعلان
GS5 has attracted much attention in the Middle East with both its aesthetic design and high quality. Right from the start of R&D, GAC MOTOR has been placing stringent controls over the quality and performance of the vehicles.
The vehicles must pass CAE verification, system tests, vehicle tests, and go through seven types of road conditions such as “extreme heat, high humidity, low temperature, ice, and snow”. This ensures that the products can better adapt to the driving environment in the Middle East.
Recently, GAC Motor presented the all-new GS5, which has achieved excellent sales since the appearance of the first generation in the region’s markets in 2012, and the popularity of this model continued over the past years despite the addition of multi-use models to the GAC family.

The front grille of GS5 adopts GAC MOTOR’s “Flying Dynamics Grille 3.0” design concept, giving a strong visual impact with its matrix LED headlights. The strong lines of its body contour, are steady and high-spirited, complementing the owner’s temperament and taste.
This new generation of the all-new GS5, dons a modern look. The exterior design is inspired by aeronautics and includes a front grille consisting of four wide chrome strips with the brand logo in the middle, merging with the three-lens LED headlight. Below the sides of the front bumper are fog lights.
From the side, the elegant design lines continue along the body, and the chrome “Roof Rack” shines on the car roof, with a chrome strip around the side windows. Electrically adjustable and folding mirrors with turn signals and side cameras provide an innovative view of the vehicle. As for the door handles, they come in the color of the car with a chrome touch strip insert. The vehicle has 19-inch wheels with a sporty design.
From the rear, we find a spoiler above the rear glass that embraces the brake lights, and below the glass, 3D LED taillights give the rear design an elegant look.

The cabin is spacious and has a quiet design. It is equipped with comfortable embroidered leather seats that can be adjusted in 10 modes with intelligent memory, which are heated and ventilated. At the front, we find the 10.1-inch infotainment screen with touch screen, and dual climate control buttons. In front of the driver is a fully digital instrument panel that includes a 7-inch screen that displays the most important vehicle information, while the slim-design air-conditioning vents embody the new design language of the Chinese manufacturer GAC.
As for the rear seats, they offer generous head and legroom.
The GS5 also features a large storage space in the rear luggage compartment, reaching 480 liters, and when the rear seats are folded, the space reaches 1350 liters.
Among the other highlights of the cabin are: A large panoramic sunroof, dim night lights that give the cabin elegance in the evening, a multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel, two USB ports in the front, Bluetooth, and a wireless mobile charger as standard equipment.
Mechanically, GAC supplies the GS5 with a three-generation GDI four-cylinder T270 turbo engine, with a capacity of 1.5 liters, generating 168 horsepower and 270 Newton-meter torque, and is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission from the Japanese company Aisin.
GS5 adopts the new dual-zone air conditioner developed by Japanese DENSO, a world-class air conditioning system supplier. It provides a fast cooling, low noise, and comfortable air outlet experience. The driver and passengers can adjust the temperature according to their own needs.
GAC has always prioritized safety, with front, side, and curtain airbags, ESP electronic stability system, HBA emergency brake system, as well as HHC and HDC systems for uphill and downhill movement. These safety systems provide full coverage from prevention to protection, brakes distribution system, the cornering stability system, the tire pressure monitoring system, the child seat stabilizer, in addition to the front and rear parking sensors and the anti-theft alarm with the engine immobilizer feature.

GAC Motor uses various original components for its cars from international suppliers, including electronic stability programs and engine management systems from the German company Bosch, the front brakes from the German company Continental, the front and rear struts from the American company Vestion, and the 6-speed multi-speed transmission, from the Japanese company Aisin.
GS5 can handle different road conditions with its powerful and superior features. It delivers a good user experience with fast throttle response, rapid steering response, and smooth gear shifting. Additionally, the high-performance Macpherson gear suspension in front, combined with the multi-link independent suspension system at the rear, gives the body strong stability and adaptability to navigate uneven road conditions smoothly.
GAC GS5 is an attractive mid-size SUV that has a lot to offer — a force to be reckoned with.
