MG GT: A sport sedan for the young at heart

MG Motor has launched the all-new 2022 MG GT. The British-born brand is owned by Chinese giant SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (SAIC, formerly Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) — a Fortune Global 100 company and one of China’s “big four” state-owned automakers. Best known for its open two-seater sports cars, MG also produces saloons and coupés. In its commitment to diversifying its vehicle range, it unveiled this new sports sedan model.اضافة اعلان
The all-new MG GT offers customers in the Middle East and Jordan a new alternative in the sedan segment, with its bold, sporty look and options for powertrains, including 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engines and 1.5-liter engines with turbocharging that provide maximum levels of power and performance. The price tag starts at JD23,500.
Inspired by the classic two-door MGB sports car, the GT is the third sedan to join MG’s growing portfolio of cost-effective and value-for-money offerings. With the brand’s focus on young customers, as demonstrated by its ‘to the maximum’ philosophy, the new model is expected to generate great interaction among the young and the young at heart, as it reflects, according to MG, independence, aspirations, passion, and adventurous spirit.

The MG GT 1.5T comes with a highly efficient 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a DCT gearbox, delivering a maximum output of 173 hp and a maximum torque of 250Nm, with acceleration hitting100 km/h within 8 seconds.
The 1.5L is powered by a fuel-efficient, fourth-generation 1.5-liter engine that delivers 118 horsepower and is mated to an iCVT gearbox. Both models are equipped with XDS dynamic diffraction control, which further enhances the driving experience. Dynamic performance is further assisted by the sporty aerospace-grade aluminum chassis with a compact structure, delivering driving comfort and firmer handling.
The GT is the first sports sedan from the brand to shine through the third generation of the MG family’s design language. A large front grille in a digital flame pattern is separated from the slim LED headlights, enhancing the car’s dynamic presence. To complement the bold, pressed-down bonnet shape, the car features a rear inverted pattern, which further enhances the sporty look. Additionally, it dons a chrome trim from end to end as well as a wide shoulder and optional tomahawk axe-style alloy wheels.

The dynamic look and feel are also evident in the interior, which is available in contrasting red or black. The seats adopt a design that considers the principles of smooth use, giving the driver optimum comfort and more support for the body. A large 10-inch touch screen is standard, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay technologies, enabling drivers to easily use their smart devices in the car.

The sports sedan lives up to MG’s reputation for great value and is therefore well-equipped with a host of technologies that reflect the brand’s forward-thinking approach. The model includes electronic chassis stability control, pdc reverse radar, mg pilot intelligent driving assistance, 360° surround monitoring, navigation cruise control, and forward collision warning, among other systems.
