AMMAN —
FIFA has selected a crew of three Jordanian referees to preside over the
2020 Tokyo Olympics’ football matches between July 23 and August 8.

The three referees, Adham Makhadmeh, Ahmad Munes and Mohammad Al-Bakar, are required to undergo training workshops and medical and physical assessments to ensure their readiness ahead of the international event.
According to a statement on the
Jordan Football Association’s (JFA) official website, the three referees were chosen based on their good reputation and their extensive experience.
In the upcoming round of the Olympic football, Saudi Arabia and Egypt will be representing the Arab World after the latter nabbed the Africa
U23 Cup of Nations, whereas Saudi Arabia qualified after coming in behind Egypt.
Despite having been scheduled for the Summer of 2020, the Olympics were pushed back to this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
To mitigate the threat of COVID-19, Japanese organizers have opted to eliminate audience attendance.
