AMMAN —
Al-Faisaly has secured the lead in the
Jordanian Pro League, after scoring 17 points across seven games, the latest of which was a
(2-1) win against Al-Ramtha.

With their most recent victory, Faisaly broke their tie for
number one with Ramtha, dragging their opponent down to number four.
Ramtha bounced back, however, and rose to second place (15pts.) after a (3-0)
win against Al-Jazeera, as the latter dropped to number 6 (11pts.)
Al-Wehdat faced a setback against after a (0-0) draw with Al-Hussein Irbid,
ending up with a 14-point score across six games, thereby coming to a
standstill in third place (goal difference compared to Ramtha and Al-Salt).
Meanwhile, Al-Salt took a step forward moving up to fifth place, with 14 points
across eight matches, after winning (3-1) against Sahab.
During the league’s eighth round, Al-Jaleel beat Baqaa (3-2)
and Maan beat Shabab Al-Aqaba (1-0)
“You could say that Faisaly is performing the best among the teams vying for
the league title, while Baqaa continues to suffer at the bottom of the
scoreboard,” football analyst Muhannad Al-Hjouj told
Jordan News.
He continued:“We will very likely see
several changes to team rankings in the coming rounds, especially with the
return of fans who will rile up the players and play a major role in deciding
the champion.”
A total of 16 goals were scored in round 8. Al-Jazeera’s
forward Ali Alwan is the league’s top scorer (5 goals), followed by Shabab
Al-Ordon’s Douglas Valle (4 goals), Sahab’s forward, Yazan Al-Nuaimat (4 goals)
and Salt’s Ronald Wanga (4 goals).
