AMMAN — The 35th edition of the
Jordan Shield Cup kicks off on Thursday at Prince Muhammad Stadium in Zarqa, sponsored
by Pioneering Education Schools.

The first group will see the Al-Sareeh and Al-Salt teams
face off at 3pm and Aqaba youth with contend against Al-Hussein Irbid at 7pm.
The second group matches on Friday will see Maan play
Al-Wehdat at 3pm and Al-Jazira play Al-Faisaly at 7pm.
The first round will conclude on Saturday with the third
group; Mughir Al-Sarhan is set to face off against Al-Ramtha, and Sahab is
scheduled to contend against Jordan Youth at 7pm.
Wehdat has historically done well in the
Shield Cup, having
10 championship titles under its belt. Faisaly has won 7; Ramtha 5; Al-Hussein
3; Jazira and Jordan Youth with two each, and Al-Jalil, Kafr Soum, and Yarmouk
winning one each.
Jalil currently holds the title of champion after defeating
Wehdat with a penalty shootout 6-5, having tied 1-1 during the final match.
