AMMAN — Jordan’s national team on Tuesday defeated Bahrain (2-1) in a friendly match that brought the two together in the Bahraini capital of Manama.

Tuesday’s match was the last one in a series of friendly games held to boost readiness for the joint Asian playoffs, which act as the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Kingdom’s Bahaa’ Al-Feisal scored the first goal of the match at the 32-minute mark. Yazan Al-Nueimat scored the second Jordan’s goal at 51 minutes.
Mohammad Al-Rumeihi scored Bahrain’s only goal at 71 minutes with the help of a penalty kick.
Earlier this month, Jordan attended a training camp in Dubai, during which they faced off against Oman
for a nil-nil result before defeating Lebanon one to nothing in a later match.
Jordan will continue paving its way through the Asian qualifiers — as part of Group B — in June; starting with a game against Nepal on June 7, followed by a second one agaisnt Kuwait on June 11 before concluding in a faceoff with Australia on June 15.
Jordan and Kuwait are currently tied at second place within their quaifier group, with a score of 10 points for both teams.
Australia remains in the lead of Group B (12pts.), followed by Nepal in fourth place (3pts) and China in fifth. (0 pts.)
