Jordan in Arab Cup Group C with Morocco, Saudi Arabia

AMMAN — The 2021 FIFA Arab Cup draw took place on Tuesday, April 26, in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the tournament, scheduled for late November.اضافة اعلان

Should the national squad qualify against Sudan, the draw placed Jordan in Group C with Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the winner of the qualifier match between Palestine and Comoros.

Group A comprises Qatar, Iraq and the winners of Oman v. Somalia and Bahrain v. Kuwait.

Group B hosts Tunisia, the UAE, Syria and the winner of Yemen v. Mauritania. 

Group D includes Algeria, Egypt and the winners of Lebanon v. Djibouti and Sudan v. Libya.

Based on the championship’s system, nine teams have directly qualified to the group stage of the tournament, while 14 other still have to go through a qualifier stage, depending on their international ranking. 

A total of 16 teams will take part in the final playoffs, divided across four groups. The teams will duke it out in six of Qatar’s 2022 World Cup stadiums

The winner and runner up from each group will qualify to the quarter finals, for a total of eight teams, while four teams will make it to the semifinal. The two losing teams will face each other to determine who ranks in third place, while the two winners will go on to compete for the title. 

This is Jordan’s ninth appearance at the Arab Cup.
