AMMAN — Al-Salt and Shabab Al-Ordon currently share the lead of the
Jordanian Pro league with seven points each, marking the end of the tournament’s third round.

Shabab Al-Ordon and Salt rose to the top of the leaderboard after the former beat Shabab Al-Aqaba (1-2) and the latter defeated Sahab (2-1) as well.
Al-Jazeera rose third place (4pts.) after defeating Al-Hussein (Irbid) (4-0), surpassing Faisaly, Maan and Ramtha.
Al-Hussein (Irbid) is at a standstill of 3 points, coming in seventh place, whereas Sahab, Shabab Al-Aqaba and Jalil each have two points and Baqaa, nil.
Wehdat has so far missed all three rounds of the Pro League as they continue to make their way through the
AFC Champions League in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Some 13 goals were scored across five games, pushing the tournament’s total to 29 goals in 15 matches (average of 1.93 goals per match).
Yazan Al-Nueimat maintained his position as the league’s top scorer (4 goals), followed by Amr Al-Shahat, Al-Alwan and Mardik Mardikian (2 goals each).
“I think the championship is starting to present itself as one that will take an exciting and competitive turn in the upcoming rounds, especially since next round marks Wehdat’s first appearance,” national coach and analyst, Mohammad Obeidat, told
Jordan News.
“Round-three games have been very competitive and thrilling, despite the empty stands due to the
coronavirus pandemic. Overall performance is improving and we are now seeing more goals being scored…,” Obeidat continued.
