AMMAN — Al-Wehdat club will today (Wednesday) begin its march in the group stage of the AFC Champions League the against the Saudi Al-Nassr at 9pm, at King Saud University Stadium in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Al-Wehdat Manager Abdullah Abu Zema said he was opstimistic about the game as the team intends to play wtih a focus on the strengths and weaknesses of Al-Nassr. in a statement to the official website of the Al-Wehdat club: “We are highly focused and we are prepared to deal tactically with our opponent. I hope To succeed in our first match against Al-Nassr, which will give the team a boost to complete the remaining Group D matches.”
Medical doctor, Muayad Omar, said on the club’s official website that Al-Wehdat will enter the match with a full count given that the team and administration have all tested negative for Coronavirus. Player Mohammad Al-Dumeiri will however be absent from the tournament due to injury.
Meanwhile, Al-Nasr will play without its attacker, Firas Al-Buraikan, after he tested positive for coronavirus.
Al-Wihdat will meet with his Iranian counterpart Foolad on the April 17 of the same month in Group D, then conclude the away games against the Qatari Al-Sadd on April 20 before returning to meet Al-Sadd again in the home games on April 23, and later facing the Saudi Al-Nassr on April 26. Al- Wihdat will conclude their participation against Iranian Foolad on April 29.
The tournament rules stipulate that 16 first-placed teams in each group and 3 second-placed teams in the groups of each region will qualify for the next stage, as all unit matches are held at the same time at 9pm and at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.
