AMMAN — The West Asia Football Federation and
Beach Soccer Worldwide “BSWW” have held a meeting with members’ national federations, to coordinate the details of a second beach soccer championship.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup, held in Dubai, the UAE on November 2 to 6, with the presence of the secretary general of the West Asia Federation, Khalil Al-Salem, and BSWW’s president, Joan Cusco, as well as the organization’s director of events Joseph Bonsset.

In the meeting, Salem announced that next tournament will be announced as soon as a date is finalized, with the expected participation of nine teams: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iraq.
Salem also said that there is a proposal to invite one or two teams from outside the region, depending on the number of teams participating from the region.
The secretary general has also indicated that the West Asia Federation intends to organize a special championship with beach football clubs, and has proposed the last quarter of next year as the date. He added that he heard that national federations wish to also host the championship and that their arrangements will be formally agreed upon in the coming days.
