AMMAN — Ameen Abu Hawas is looking forward to his first official match with Al-Shamal at the Emir
Qatar Basketball Cup, after landing a formal agreement with representatives of the team to finish out his two-season contract.

Al-Shamal will play Al-Arabi on Sunday at 7:30pm, in group one, which includes Al-Wakrah and Qatar. The second group will include the title holder Al-Gharafa, Al-Khor, Al-Rayyan, Al-Sadd, and Al-Ahli.
In an interview with
Jordan News, Abu Hawas said: “I can confirm today that things with Al-Shamal are very much fine, and I’m really looking forward to winning the Qatar Cup and offering my best.”
He added: “I had an additional meeting with the representatives of Al-Shamal, during which we reached good terms about my situation with the team. They have fixed all my problems.”
“My focus is now winning titles with my new team, and I want to continue with the team and respect the duration of the contract for the next two seasons and prove myself.”
Abu Hawas had asked the management of the team to cancel his contract for various reasons, before the dispute between the parties was resolved, the player said.
In addition, the Qatar Basketball Federation has set November 13, as the start date for the general basketball league which includes nine clubs: Al-Gharafa, Al-Rayyan, Al-Sadd, Al-Wakrah, Al-Ahli, Al-Shamal, Al-Khor, and Qatar.
