AMMAN — On Monday, basketball fans across Jordan will turn
their attention to Prince Hamzah Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City to watch what
has been dubbed the “Classico match” of Jordanian basketball at 7pm between
Al-Ahli and the
Orthodox club.

Al-Wehdat and
Al-Jubiha will also be playing at 5pm. These
matches come as part of the ninth round of the second leg of the CFI Premier
Basketball League.
The matches of the round will conclude on Tuesday, with
Al-Jalil and Kufryopa playing at 6pm. This match will formally determine the
team that will fall to Jordan’s First Division Clubs League.
The Orthodox club leads the scoreboard with 15 points ahead
of Al-Ahli, followed by Al-Wehdat coming in third with 11 points — with a match
against Al-Jalil postponed. Kufryopa and Al-Jubiha are equal, with 10 points
each coming in the fourth and fifth places, respectively. Al-Jalil stands in
sixth place with seven points due to seven consecutive losses.
