AMMAN — President of the Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF), Mohamed Alayyan, confirmed the presence of the naturalized Jordanian Dar Tucker, Turkish Fenerbahçe player Ahmed Al-Duwairi, and Zaid Abbas with the first national basketball team, the Jordan Falcons, during their matches against Lebanon and Indonesia on February 24 and 27, respectively, for the second stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2023 World Cup.اضافة اعلان

Alayyan said in his interview with Jordan News that “Zayd Abbas, Duwairi, and Tucker confirmed their presence for the second stage, and they are expected to join the national team training on February 20.”

Regarding his assessment of the national team’s performance in the Arab Basketball Championship after four consecutive losses, he said: “There is no doubt that the performance of the national team players was unsatisfactory in the first three matches in the championship, but the Falcons regained some of their spirit in their match against Lebanon. This gives us the incentive to be optimistic.”

Alayyan called upon the Jordanian public and all basketball fans to rally behind the national team in support of their matches in Lebanon and Indonesia.

“We hope that everyone will stand behind the team to support it from the court, and, God willing, the players will be up to the responsibility,” he said.
