At 17 he has emerged as a gifted game player and he recently contributed to the Orthodox Club’s crowning of the U-18 Junior League title, led by Coach Samer Nino. Baqour started his sporting career playing Taekwondo, in which he holds the "Two Dan" belt.

“I started playing basketball at a late age, about three years ago, when Coach Ibrahim Jarrar discovered my talent in school and recruited me to the Amman Federation Club to train under his supervision and Coach Zaid Sahouri, where I was runner up in the U-14 and U-16 Championships,” Baqour told Al-Ghad News.

"The decision to leave the Amman Federation Club was very difficult, but chasing my passion and dream of playing with the Orthodox club prompted me to make this decision, and I quickly adapted to the atmosphere here, especially since coach Samer Nino succeeded in employing my abilities in an ideal way,” Baqour said.

He said he wants to continue playing basketball, develop his skills and refine his talent further, to reach the highest levels and to achieve his dream of winning more titles and championships.

"I am seeking a scholarship abroad and to play in the university league," he said. He added that he faces certain challenges related to physical fatigue and the difficulty of organizing time between studies, training and playing matches.
Baqour thanked his family for their continuous support saying that without them “I would not have been able to continue playing and studying at the same time.”
