AMMAN — The
Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF) held a
meeting Saturday with the referees of the Premier League clubs, encouraging
them to perform their jobs professionally.

JBF President Mohamed Alayyan urged all referees to correct
errors that may occur during the adjudicating of matches. He emphasized that
the federation’s board of directors does not interfere in the referees
committee’s decisions regarding referee appointments based on the committee’s
rotation mechanism.
Alayyan stressed that the JBF would not succumb to any
pressure, stressing that the law would be applied to everyone without
exception, and without favoritism for any party.
The referees voiced their support for the JBF’s decision and
stressed the committee’s independence in its selection of referees. They
reiterated their impartiality with all clubs and the application of the law.
Also on Saturday, the Referees Committee, chaired by Mudar
Majzoub, met to discuss some arbitration cases in the matches of the last
round, within the weekly periodic sessions held by the JBF Referees Committee.
During the session, matches were reviewed and arbitration
cases were discussed to unify concepts and referees were urged to not allow psychological
pressure exerted by some clubs to influence decisions.
