Basketball coaches from around the Kingdom on Sunday
attended a development workshop, held at the
Prince Hamzah Hall, in
coordination with former
NBA players and coaches.

“We need to work together to develop the skills of local
coaches because they are at the core of developing basketball in Jordan. This
is not to say that we should not take advantage of international as those are
also important,” national team coach, Wesam Al-Sous told
Jordan News on the sidelines of the workshop.
He added: We need a proper foundation for our players beyond
momentary and short-term results, in addition to organizing a greater number of
matches for them throughout the year,” noting that the Kingdom’s coaches are
ready to reach their full potential.
More than 60 male and female coaches, and former payers
attended the workshop, which addressed issues such as understanding statistics,
scouting players and team management.
