AMMAN — The first national basketball team, the
Jordan Falcons,
bid farewell to the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Arab Basketball Championship after
losing to the Lebanese team 52–64 (first half 22–31), in the quarter-final
match on Sunday at the Al-Nasr Club in Dubai.

The Falcons suffered three losses in their preliminary first
group matches, the first to the UAE (81–85), then Tunisia (56–64), and Libya
(69–81).
The Lebanese team will play its Tunisian counterpart in the
semi-finals at 4pm on Tuesday, while the Somali team, which defeated Libya (92–88),
will play against the winner of the UAE–Algeria match, which was held late yesterday.
The Falcons participation comes within their preparatory
framework for their matches against Lebanon and Indonesia which will take place
on 7pm on February 24 and 27 at Prince Hamzah Hall in
Al-Hussein Youth City, as
part of the second stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2023 World Cup finals.
