AMMAN — The national under-17 basketball team
lost its match against India 9–21 in the quarter-finals of the 3x3 Asian Cup,
in a meeting held Sunday in Kuala Lumpur.
The
national team, led by Coach Haitham Tlaib, included players Muhammad Nasr
Al-Din, Basil Al-Khawaldeh, Mahmoud Obeidat, and Rawhi Kilani.
The Junior
Falcons won their three matches in the preliminary round against Singapore
(18–16), Samoa (17–11), and Bangladesh (21–7), to qualify for the finals of the
Asian Championship as a leader of their second group. In the group stage of the
Asian Championship, they beat Turkmenistan (21–13) and lost to Mongolia
(10–20), to qualify as runner-up in the quarter-finals.
