AMMAN — The Jordan Basketball Federation (
JBF) is set to
proceed with all suspended events from the 2020 season, which were postponed
following the onset of the
COVID-19 pandemic, starting June.

The JBF is currently waiting for the green light to resume
activities as are most other sports federations, including youth groups (U-18,
U-16 and U-14) as well as the women’s league, which is slated to run from the
final week of May and until the end of June.
The 2021 season will see the return of the men and women’s
summer league between July 1 and July 20, in addition to holding the University
League between September 15 and November 30. The “Promising Falcons” League
will take place between the final week of September and November 30. Meanwhile,
the School League has been scheduled for from October 1 to December 10.
Based on the 2021 season agenda, the Club season will begin
with U-14 and U-18 male and female youth tournaments between August 15 and
October 15, while the U-16 girls’ tournament will run between November 1 and
December 15 and the U-16 boys’ tournament between October 15 and December 15.
The men’s
Premier League will kick off in the final quarter
of this year and end in April 2022, preceded by the men’s Jordan Cup, scheduled
between December of this year and mid-march March of next year.
The first and second division club league will be held in
the 30-day period between July 1 and July 31.
The JBF has managed to account for national teams’ external
events while preparing the new season calendar as Jordan’s national team is set
to stay in a health bubble between June 9 and June 14 while it plays three
matches as part of the final window of
the 2021 Asia Cup final qualifies.
The men’s national team will then compete in the Asia Cup in
Indonesia, provided they make it through the qualifiers.
The women’s national team will take part in the Asia Cup
from September 26 running through to October 3.
