Czech World Champion Tomas Slavik Explores Amman’s Seven Hills on Two Wheels

Tomas Slavik, a four-time world champion in mountain biking, has embarked on an exciting new adventure—conquering the seven famous hills of Amman. With a distinguished career in mountain biking, including victories at the Red Bull Valparaiso Cerro Abajo and Red Bull Monserrat Cerro Abajo, Tomas has been rewriting the history of the sport over the years. Now, the exceptional athlete is facing a new kind of challenge as he rides through the seven historic hills of Amman in collaboration with Jordan Ahli Bank, supported by the Jordan Tourism Board (Visit Jordan).

Amman, built on a series of seven hills, is a city rich in history and diverse landscapes. From the ancient Citadel in Jebel al-Qalaa to the vibrant streets of Jebel Amman, the hills offer a mix of rugged elevations, panoramic views, and cultural landmarks, making them an ideal place for any adventurer.

Tomas explains, “Throughout my career, I’ve honed my skills for mountain biking in some of the toughest natural environments around the world, but the Seven Hills of Amman are unlike anything I’ve encountered before.” He adds, “Each hill offers unique challenges, from steep descents to the winding streets of the city. It’s not just a test of my physical limits but also an opportunity to discover the beauty of a city steeped in history and culture.”

Tomas’ journey included stops at famous landmarks such as the Roman Theater, the Citadel, and Souk Jara. Along the way, Tomas blended sport, adventure, and cultural exploration, capturing every moment for his fans through a cinematic video directed by Canadian filmmaker Benoit Lalande.
This challenge is part of Tomas’ ongoing commitment to inspire people of all ages to embrace outdoor adventure and push their limits in fun and exciting ways.
