AMMAN — In a significant development, the executive
committee of the Jordan Football Association has announced the dismissal of
David Nashimento, the former coach of the national women's team, due to
underwhelming results in past competitions. Taking over the reins is Maher Abu
Hantash, who will not only lead the U-20 women's team in the upcoming period
but also continue as the coach of the senior women's team.

The assistant coaching staff of the senior women's team will
retain their positions as well.
Additionally, the executive committee has appointed
Brazilian coach Hugo Filami to train the U-17 women's national team while
serving as an assistant to Abu Hantash for the senior team.
This decision reflects the association's commitment to
comprehensive evaluation and development in women's football, aiming to realize
their ambitions in future competitions.
BasketballMeanwhile, the national basketball team faced disappointment
as they concluded their training camp in Greece. During a friendly match
against the Greek U-20 team at the "Nikos Galis" Hall in Athens, the
“Jordan Falcons" suffered a narrow defeat, with a final score of 58-62.
This match served as part of the Greek youth team's
preparations for the upcoming European Championship, set to be held in
Heraklion, Crete, where Greece will compete in Group 3 alongside Lithuania,
Poland, and Croatia.
These recent developments mark significant changes in
Jordan's sports landscape, as new coaching appointments bring fresh
perspectives and aspirations for success in both women's football and
basketball.
