In comparison, Maan recorded the only loss for round 1,
while Al-Faisaly, Sahab, Al-Ramtha,
Shabab Al-Aqaba, Al-Jazeera, Al-Jalil, Shabab Al-Ordon and Al-Salt each earned
a single point after their respective matches ended in ties.
“Without a doubt, the beginning of any season is far from
the desired or expected standard, because everyone is keen on earning points,”
national coach, Issa Al-Turk, told Jordan News.
He added: We hope that the level of competition will
increase in the coming rounds, especially since the limited number of goals
that have been scored may motivate the teams to improve their scoring ratios
while continuing to accumulate points.”
During the first round of the pro league, teams only scored
a total of five goals over the span of five matches at the rate of a single
goal per match.
Commenting on the teams’ overall performance so far, national coach, Islam Thiabat told Jordan
News: “Some use the first stage to get a feel of things before moving
forward with a perfect start.”
Meanwhile, Al-Baqaa and Al-Wehdat’s match has been postponed
to the as the latter is now competing in the AFC Champions League in Saudi
Arabia.
