AMMAN —
The Royal Jordanian Equestrian Federation continues to gear up for the
international marathon scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Al-Jeeza, 30km
south of the capital.

Sixty
equestrian athletes have signed up for the marathon, made up of a 120-km race,
divided into five stages, and a 100-km race divided into four stages.
The
federation is set to announce the marathon’s official rules and regulations at
an upcoming technical inspection, which will address the treatment of horses
and the speed limits at each stage of the race.
At each
stage, riders will be required to stop at a veterinary station for a period of
20 minutes, after which they must give their horses a mandatory 30-40 minute break,
before moving on to the next stage.
