AMMAN — The Falcons have punched
their ticket to the 2023
FIBA Basketball World Cup for the third time in their
history, and for the second consecutive tournament. Their place was solidified
after a triumphant win over India, with a final score of 98-63, during Window 6
of the Asia qualifiers.

Their achievement was secured after
New Zealand's victory over Saudi Arabia earlier on Saturday, propelling Jordan
to fourth place in Group F with 14 points. Lebanon and New Zealand remain at
the top with 16 points each, while the Philippines claim third place with 15
points.
Saudi Arabia and India round out the
group in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Jordan's qualification marks their
third World Cup appearance, with their best performance to date being a 23rd-place
finish in Turkey during their debut in 2010.
They will now join six other teams
from Asia, including co-hosts Philippines and Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand,
Australia, and China, in the competition.
Only one qualifying spot remains to
the World Cup remains, heightening the excitement as the tournament approaches.
The Falcons will conclude their
qualifying journey by taking on the Philippine team next Monday at 1pm, in what
is sure to be a showdown.
