AMMAN — On Saturday, the
Jordan Football Association (JFA) demanded the imposition of strict and deterrent sports
sanctions on Israeli sports federations, calling for their complete and
immediate isolation from the international sports community, Khaberni reported.

In a statement, JFA emphasized the
"Importance of the international sports community, through all its
institutions and organizations, taking a clear and explicit stance that
embodies its influential role and noble message in protecting civilians and the
innocent, and stopping the brutal aggression and humanitarian violations in the
Gaza Strip and the
occupied Palestinian territories."
According to the statement,
JFA believes that
the global sports community possesses the necessary tools to advocate for
principles and human rights without hesitation, by taking actions in line with
international agreements and laws. This includes imposing sports sanctions on
Israeli sports federations, completely and immediately isolating them from the
international sports community, and excluding and freezing their national
teams, clubs, players, and representatives from any tournaments or gatherings until
the occupation state complies with international demands to stop the crimes
against children, women, and innocent civilians and to provide safe passages
for urgent humanitarian aid.
The blatant disregard for ethical and
humanitarian laws has turned football facilities in the strip into sites of
harm, humiliation, and abuse of civilians and innocent children, depriving them
of their basic purpose as spaces for joy and hope, the association noted.
Furthermore, JFA believes that its demands
align with the previous stances of international and continental sports
federations, which have consistently taken decisive and unequivocal positions
to reject violence, injustice, and racial discrimination.
