Amman - Mahmoud Youssef of the national junior taekwondo team clinched a bronze medal in the under-59 kg category at the World Junior Taekwondo Championship held in South Korea.

Youssef commenced his competition in the Round of 64, defeating a Bosnian athlete 2-0. He continued his impressive performance in the Round of 32, winning against a Swedish competitor 2-1.
In the Round of 16, Youssef triumphed over a Russian player with a score of 2-1, advancing to the quarterfinals where he faced a Thai opponent, securing victory again with a score of 2-1.
His journey concluded in the semifinals, where Youssef faced the South Korean player, resulting in a 2-0 defeat. Nevertheless, his achievement in securing the bronze medal highlights Jordan's strong presence in the taekwondo arena.
