AMMAN – The
Jordanian men's national basketball team has begun their training in Manila, the capital of the
Philippines, in preparation for the 19th edition of the
Basketball World Cup,
set to commence on Friday.

The tournament will be co-hosted by the Philippines,
Japan, and Indonesia.
During a press conference held on Thursday,
Coach Wesam Al-Sous expressed his delight at being the first local coach to
lead the national team in the
World Cup, the Jordan News Agency, Petra
reported. He added that the players are in high spirits and eagerly looking
forward to the start of the competitions.
A returning veteran
Next Saturday, the Falcons will face Greece
in their debut match of the third group competition, which also includes the
United States and New Zealand, according to national team player
Zaid Abbas.
Abbas also shared his joy in participating in the World Cup for the third time
in his career.
