AMMAN — Jordanian national teams secured 64 medals in the
Fifteenth Arab Sports games held in Algeria, which ended on Saturday. These
included 18 gold, 17 silver, and 29 bronze medals.

This achievement marks the second-best record for Jordan in
its history of participating in Arab Games, following the
Hussein Sports City Games in 1999, where Jordan won a total of 129 medals, including 26 gold
medals, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Stars of the show
On Friday, the national karate team won three medals (one
gold, one silver, and one bronze). The gold medal was won by Mohammad
Al-Jafari, silver medal by Mahmoud Sajan, and the bronze medal by Jud Drouss.
With these results, the national team concluded its participation in the
tournament with a total of seven medals, including three gold, two silver, and
two bronze medals.
In weightlifting, Jordanian athlete Asim Al-Salaj won two
bronze medals. He lifted 145kg in the snatch and 177kg in the clean and jerk.
The Jordanian women's volleyball team won the bronze medal
after defeating the United Arab Emirates team with a score of 3-2.
The Jordanian women's 3x3 basketball team won the bronze
medal by defeating Saudi Arabia in the match for the third and fourth positions.
In table tennis, the Jordanian team won three bronze medals
in the team events.
Zaid Abu-Yaman and Tima Abu-Yaman also won the bronze medal
in the mixed doubles competition, after defeating the Iraqi team with a score
of 3-0 in the quarter-finals and losing to the Algerian team with a score of
1-3 in the semifinals.
Finally, Jordanian table tennis players Tima-Abu Yaman and
Batoul Khader won a bronze medal in the women's doubles competition.
