AMMAN — The national men's table tennis team emerged
victorious at the Arab Table Tennis Championship in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The
tournament hosted 158 players from nine countries, including Iraq, Egypt,
Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Qatar, and Jordan, and
witnessed some intense matches.
The national team, comprising Zaid Abu Yemen, Ziyad Aziz,
Hassan Al-Hourani, and Khaled Basem, triumphed in the final match against
Bahrain. The game took place on Monday night, with the national team securing a
3-0 victory, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
This victory marks the team's second consecutive
championship title, as they had also won in the previous edition held in Amman
in 2021 by defeating the Egyptian team in the final match with recognition as
one of the top table tennis teams in the Arab region.
