AMMAN — Jordanian fighter
Ali Al-Qaisi won the Titan mixed
martial arts (
MMA) Featherweight title on Saturday, defeating American Andrew
Whitney by unanimous decision at the Titan 71 main event in Miami, Florida.

Qaisi dominated his American rival throughout the five
rounds, winning with a score of 50–45, which raised his professional MMA record
to 10–5. The Titan title is the Jordanian fighter’s step to getting back into
the UFC, the most widespread organization in MMA.
Qaisi, 30, is a well-known fighter in the Middle East and
has achieved remarkable success in Kung Fu, winning the world championship of
Kung Fu at the Sanda championship in 2016.
Jordan's mixed martial arts is scheduled for another important
event on September 21, when middleweight Hashem Arkhagha fights against
American A.J. Dobson in the Contender Series. The winning fighter will receive
a contract to fight in the UFC.
