Registration for the children's race will continue until September 24, and for the main race until October 1.
The association pointed out that the marathon aims to raise awareness about the importance of running and physical activity as a lifestyle, with broad international participation enhancing the runners' experience and fostering a spirit of competition.
Lina Kurd, Director General of the Run Jordan, stated, "We believe that sports are a driving force for positive change. For this reason, we ensure that this marathon serves as an opportunity to support humanitarian causes, aligning with the association’s commitment to integrating humanitarian work with sports events to achieve a broader positive impact on society."
She noted that 20% of the event’s registrations will be allocated to support affected families in Gaza in cooperation with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization.
Kurd also mentioned that all last year’s Amman Marathon 2023 registrations are valid for this year. Runners who wish to receive a new shirt for the current year should visit the association and present their registration number to collect their shirts.
On another note, the association places significant emphasis on individuals with special needs, reflecting its deep belief in their integration into the community as an integral part of its fabric. Including individuals with special needs in sports events is not only a social obligation but also an expression of our community’s noble human values aimed at promoting inclusivity and solidarity.
The association is committed to providing an appropriate environment and necessary support to ensure that individuals with special needs are active participants in every event organized, reflecting the association’s dedication to upholding principles of equality and justice and achieving its goals in serving the entire community.
It is worth mentioning that the Amman Marathon starts from the Hashemite Plaza and includes four main races: the 42.195 km marathon (individual), the 42.195 km marathon (relay), the 21 km half marathon (individual and for special needs), and the 10 km race (individual and for special needs).
