Third round of Jordanian Golf League to kick off Friday

AMMAN — The third round of the Jordanian Golf League is set to commence at 8am Friday, at the Ayala Oasis fields in Aqaba. This edition of the championship boasts a participation of approximately 45 players, representing all age groups.اضافة اعلان

Among the participants, 23 players aged over 18 will take part in the third round, while 22 juniors have joined the competition, a press statement said.

The Jordan Golf Federation has expressed its intention to include the "elite juniors" category in future league rounds, potentially on the global amateur ranking scale.

Growing the national teamAmer Radee, the technical director of the national golf team, emphasized the importance of expanding the participant base in order to supply the national teams with talented players.
He said: "We have developed the system for the third round of the league championship to increase the number of participants and expand the base. We want to continue the process of supplying the national teams with talented players, especially as the diversity of competition options poses a new challenge for each age group to develop their abilities in line with the level of the event."

Anticipation is high for the third round, as the previous round concluded with a thrilling finish decided by the last shot and a subsequent playoff.

Participants have been dedicating themselves to intensive training at the Basharat and Ayala Oasis clubs.

Promoting the gameNidal Al-Majali, the president of the Jordan Golf Federation, affirmed the federation’s commitment to preserving the golden generation of golfers during a recent board meeting held at the Basharat Club.

He emphasized their focus on promoting the game of golf in schools and leveraging digital tools to market the sport, ensuring the sustainability of championships.

These efforts aim to create positive effects that contribute to the growth and development of golf. Majali expressed his gratitude to the federation’s Board of Directors, strategic partner Ayala Oasis Development Company represented by CEO Eng. Sahl Dudin, the club staff, the General Security Directorate, the development committee, the Jordan Olympic Committee, and R&A for their financial support.

He noted that the collaboration of these entities will greatly contribute to establishing golf's rightful place on the Arab and regional map.
