Three players hit half-centuries for the
Netherlands, who reached 203-3 in the 40th over before wickets tumbled as the
hosts failed to build on their solid start.
Willey was the pick of the bowlers with 4-36, while
Brydon Carse took 2-49 as England looked for a series whitewash.
World champions England, who piled up a world-record
total of 498-4 in the first 50-over contest before cantering to victory in the
second game, will be confident they can chase down 245 with ease.
England’s out-of-form captain
Eoin Morgan was ruled
out of Wednesday’s match due to a minor groin injury, with Jos Buttler taking
charge.
The Netherlands were boosted by the inclusion of
bowlers Paul van Meekeren and Fred Klaassen, who both play for English county
sides.
Neither was available for the first two games.
The Dutch lost Vikramjit Singh early but Max O’Dowd
and Tom Cooper put on 72 for the second wicket before Cooper was caught on the
boundary by Liam Livingstone off Carse.
Opener O’Dowd was caught behind by Buttler off
Livingstone the next ball he faced after reaching his second fifty of the
series.
Bas de Leede (56) was dismissed shortly after
reaching his half-century as the Dutch found boundaries hard to come by.
Netherlands captain
Scott Edwards reached a third
consecutive half-century but wickets kept falling at the other end, slowing the
home side’s momentum.
Edwards was caught by Jason Roy off debutant David
Payne for 64, an innings that contained just two boundaries.
