England ran in eight tries as they posted a record
24th successive international win, including two long-distance efforts from
Jess Breach.
Scrum-half Natasha Hunt opened the scoring after
five minutes and two minutes later Breach intercepted before running in a try
from 60m.
Amy Cokayne powered over from a line-out then
Claudia MacDonald went in on the wing to mark her first appearance in almost a
year following a neck injury with a try.
Breach then scored again from long range, racing in
from inside her own half after a pass from Emily Scarratt to make it 33–0 at
half-time.
MacDonald went over for England’s first score of the
second half and Cokayne also grabbed her second try before Hope Rogers finally
put some points on the board for the US.
England’s Shaunagh
Brown and Helena Rowland were both sin-binned and the USA were awarded a
penalty try for a deliberate knock-on by the latter, but even though the hosts
were down to 13 players they still managed an eighth try through Ellie
Kildunne.
